Hollywood Comes to High Hampton Inn!

April 11th, 2016 by Brianna Wagenbrenner

Characterized by its exciting music, passionate romance and vibrant dancing, everyone in 1987 was in awe of what would become one America’s most beloved romantic movies – Dirty Dancing. Much has changed since the movie’s release date, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the desire to indulge in a resort experience like Kellerman’s and relive the iconic romance between Baby and Johnny. Now, you can do both!

ABC recently announced its decision to produce a three-hour remake of the romantic comedy. Filming in part at High Hampton Inn is the highly anticipated television remake of Dirty Dancing, which is set to star Scream Queen’s Abigail Breslin as Frances “Baby” Houseman and Colt Prattes as Johnny Castle. The remake follows the journey of Baby, a budding young woman on vacation with her wealthy parents in the Catskills as she unexpectedly falls for Johnny, the resort’s rugged and charismatic dance instructor.

Taking place in April and May, principal filming locations span across Western North Carolina. Embodying the spirit of Kellerman’s, High Hampton Inn is a filming destination for this highly anticipated television special. With the reputation of being a “Dirty Dancing style” resort, High Hampton Inn guests will see this multi-generational vacation favorite come to life in true Hollywood style!

High Hampton Inn Makes Headlines!

May 9th, 2011 by Staff

”The Carolinas offer some of the most beautiful places on earth, and each episode on the Life in the Carolinas TV show features a unique Carolinas destination,” says Carl White, the show’s host and producer.   Last summer, it was our distinct pleasure to host Carl as he visited High Hampton Inn in his quest for perfect places to profile for his program.

During his stay, Carl met Hampton Bear, interviewed several guests, talked to our golf professional, and did a great job capturing the atmosphere and traditions that define High Hampton.

Life in the Carolinas airs on Sundays, and if you live in Charlotte, Winston Salem, Raleigh, Wilmington NC and Greenville / Spartanburg, SC, you may have seen the program on your local FOX affiliate.   If not, and for our guests everywhere, we invite you to tune in to the program on YouTube.
